Cal will play on Kabam Field
Cal has sold the naming rights to the field at Memorial Stadium to video game company Kabam.
The school announced that it had sold the naming rights to the field to Kabam, a video game company, which seems so perfectly Berkeley. The contract with Kabam will last for 15 years and Cal will receive $18 million for the naming rights.
Kabam will get its name at both 25-yard lines as well as signage on the 50-yard line as part of the deal.
While I'm sure some Cal traditionalists will balk at this latest change, I'm guessing they'll learn to live with it should the Golden Bears start winning more games. It's much easier to be angry about everything following a 1-11 season.
