Clemson: It's been quite a season for the defending national champions, which have picked up some decisive wins in their lone road games at Louisville (47-21) and at Virginia Tech (31-17). What that means for Syracuse on a short week, however, is anyone's guess. Quarterback Kelly Bryant, who was knocked out of the Wake Forest game with an injury, practiced all week and is "ready to roll," according to coach Dabo Swinney. The Tigers' offense should get theirs; the question is whether the defense will be able to stop the tempo of the Orange.

Syracuse: Though 'Cuse has not had the success it had hoped to achieve early in coach Dino Babers' second season, its offense has seen an upswing since his arrival. The Orange are ranked No. 72 in the CBS Sports 130 and held tough in losses at LSU (35-26) and at NC State (33-25). They are also coming off a 27-24 win over Pittsburgh just last week.

Clemson has covered three touchdowns in three of six games already this season, including at Louisville. While Syracuse may have an improved offense, it has yet to see anything like the Tigers' defense that is absolutely swarming opponents. Defensive coordinator Brent Venables will be geeked with the challenge presented by the Orange on Saturday night. While I feel much more comfortable taking Syracuse if the line goes down to 21 or lower, it is still tough to see this game ending without a defensive score and a big-time offensive performance from Clemson on a fast field Friday night.  Pick: Clemson -22.5
