Clemson lands four-star defensive end Elijah Daniel

Hot on the heels of landing the top recruit in the country, Clemson went away from its normal recruiting grounds to land highly regarded four-star Avon (Ind.) defensive end Elijah Daniel over the weekend.

"They answered all the questions I was searching for," Daniel told 247Sports. "I felt it was the best fit for me. They were very excited I decided to come aboard."

The 6-foot-4, 250-pounder is ranked as the No. 57 overall player in the class of 2013 and picked Clemson over offers from Florida, Tennessee and Michigan among others.

"(Defensive coordinator) Brent Venables is going to use me as a D-End in a 4-3 and also rushing some in a 3-4," Daniel said.

The Indiana native is the ninth pledge for the Tigers' class of 2013 and joins top recruit Robert Nkemdiche along the defensive line.
