Texas A&M added a major defensive piece to its 2022 recruiting class as four-star edge rusher Enai White committed to the Aggies live Wednesday on CBS Sports HQ. White, a product of Imhotep Institute in Philadelphia, picked Texas A&M over Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and Florida

Adding White is a coup for Texas A&M as the Aggies vie for their first ever No. 1 overall recruiting class in the modern era. While things are fluid, White's addition pushes Texas A&M into the No. 1 spot, narrowly ahead of Georgia and Alabama. White is the third top-75 defensive line signee in the recruiting class with two more set to sign.

"Just the three visits, I felt the family atmosphere, it reminded me of my high school," White said of his decision to head to Texas A&M. "I just want to go down there and win championships."

White played both defensive end and tight end in high school. Prior to Imhotep, White played at The Pennington School in Pennington, New Jersey, starring in both football and basketball. 247Sports national recruiting analyst Brian Dohn had this scouting report of White:

Frame and length is elite. Can easily carry 250 pounds. Offers position versatility as weak side defensive end [or] outside linebacker. Freakish athleticism. Possesses elite burst at snap and he speed to consistently get around edge. Has excellent change of direction. Has athleticism to recover. Can disengage dive back into play. Shows speed to chase down play backside. Quick feet allows White to re-directs easily. Must improve technique. Has to be consistent with a rip, spin or swim move to accentuate athleticism. Adding upper body strength will enable White to anchor when plays are run at him. Continued development with hands and being more active in keeping offensive linemen off him is needed. Developing a move set and having a snap-to-snap plan will help greatly.
