Research shows that Kosta Karageorge, the Ohio State football player who committed suicide in November, did not suffer from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). This is according to a report from the Franklin County Coroner's Office released Friday.

While Karageorge did not have CTE, the report did conclude that Karageorge had "prior concussive history." Repeated concussions and head injuries can lead to CTE, which has been found to lead to depression as well as other maladies.

Karageorge went missing in November, the day before Thanksgiving, and was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound four days later. Police records indicate that Karageorge had sent suicidal text messages to his girlfriend shortly before his disappearance.

He had spent three years as a wrestler at Ohio State before walking on to the football team last August.
