AKRON, Ohio (AP) Jarret Doege threw for two touchdowns and Rico Frye ran for a third as Bowling Green won its second straight road game, knocking off Akron 21-6 on Saturday.

The back-to-back road victories are the first for the Falcons since they beat Purdue and Buffalo in 2015. Bowling Green now has beaten the Zips in nine of the last 10 meetings and is 17-8 all-time in the series.

Nick Gasser kicked field goals from 38- and 32-yards out to put Akron in front, 6-0 late in the second quarter, but Doege drive Bowling Green 80 yard in 10 plays to end the half, hitting Dorian Hendrix from 7-yards out to take a 7-6 lead.

Frye added a 5-yard run for a touchdown late in the third quarter and Doege added an 8-yard scoring pass to Quintin Morris late.

Doege was 19 of 27 for 178 yards passing and Andrew Clair carried 12 times for 112 yards for the Falcons (3-8, 2-5 Mid-American Conference).

Kato Nelson was 12 of 28 for 148 yards passing for Akron (4-6, 2-5).
