Ed Orgeron thanks each USC marching band member with note
With one of the biggest home games of the year ahead on Saturday against Stanford, USC coach Ed Orgeron wrote personally-addressed notes to each member of the marching band.
USC's 4-1 run since the dismissal of Lane Kiffin has launched the Trojans right back into the Pac-12 South race, and a great deal of that credit has gone to interim coach Ed Orgeron.
The enthusiastic and player-friendly "Coach O" has taken some extra effort to ensure that the Coliseum will be at its best when No. 5 Stanford comes to visit for Homecoming on Saturday night. According to the official Twitter account of the USC marching band, The Spirit of Troy, Orgeron sent personally addressed notes to each member of the band.
Orgergon's ability to turn the season around has resulted in speculation as to his candidacy for the head coaching job moving forward. Knocking off Stanford on national television -- especially just a week after the Cardinal wowed everyone by slowing Oregon -- would add a signature win to Coach O's rebooted resume as a head coach.
