Day 2 takeaways
I want to mention three guys I've not mentioned before.
- Bowe Bentley looked twitchy during the Pro Day Challenge, standing out with quick feet, a sudden release and a live arm. He thrived making a variety of difficult throws -- off-platform, on the move and into tight windows -- showing both velocity and touch with impressive consistency. The ball jumps out of his hand, and he throws with a natural energy that separates him from many of his peers. It was a strong showing that reinforced why LSU and Oklahoma are battling to land his commitment. Bentley's stock is clearly on the rise after the performance.
- Bryson Beaver delivered one of his strongest sessions yet during the Pro Day event, making several high-level throws that showed off his arm strength and touch. He looked composed and confident throughout the scripted workout, delivering with timing and zip to all three levels. Beaver's ability to throw on the move and hit deep outs with accuracy stood out, and he held his own against some of the more highly ranked arms in attendance. His performance added momentum to what's been a solid week overall, reaffirming why programs like Oregon and Alabama have ramped up their pursuit.
- Matt Ponatoski looked strong throughout the Elite 11 sessions, flashing the arm talent and ball placement that helped him rack up 57 touchdown passes as a junior. His delivery is compact and efficient, and the ball comes out with serious heat — a trait that makes sense given his background as a nationally ranked baseball prospect who touches the mid-90s on the mound. That baseball pedigree adds an intriguing layer to his recruitment, as it's still an open question whether he ever suits up for college football. With pro baseball scouts closely tracking his development, Ponatoski's future could ultimately be on the diamond, not the gridiron — but his performance this week shows he's legit either way.
