Elliott Tabs Travis Trickett as Offensive Coordinator

Georgia State Football coach Shawn Elliott continues to assemble his staff and according to FootballScoop.com he has selected his offensive coordinator in former FAU OC Travis Trickett.

Trickett comes to GSU after serving as OC at FAU in 2016 where his group ranked 78th in the FBS ranks total offense and averaging 5.70 yards per play. His group battled inconsistent offensive line play but powered through which certainly caught the attention of one Bruce Feldman:

Prior to Florida Atlantic, Trickett was the Offensive Coordinator at Samford for five season. In 2015, his group averaged 34.6 points and nearly 480 yards per game. He used two quarterbacks in 2015 and the duo passed for 22 scores and tossed 3,662 yards to 15 different targets and boasted the nation's highest completion percentage at 69.7 percent.

Travis comes from a big time football family as his father, Rick Trickett, is the offensive line coach at Florida State and his brother Clint Trickett played football at West Virginia and is currently the OC as East Mississippi Community College which was on the Netflix featured series "Last Chance U."

Trickett is the second assistant coach named to Coach Elliott's staff thus far joining Offensive Line coach Cedric Williams.
