Ex-Big East foes Syracuse and USF to meet in 2015-16

Syracuse and USF announced a home-and-home series for 2015 and 2016 on Tuesday. It will renew a brief conference rivalry the schools had as Big East opponents from 2005-12.

Syracuse has yet to play a former Big East opponent as an ACC member (excluding Pitt, which took a 17-16 victory in the Carrier Dome last season in their first ACC conference game). USF leads the series 6-2, but lost two of the last three meetings including a 37-36 heartbreaker in 2012 at Raymond James Stadium.

“This series gives our program important exposure in Florida, and renews a budding rivalry we had before joining the ACC.  This gives many of our student-athletes a chance to play in front of their friends and family, and solidifies our upcoming schedule with quality opponents across the board,” Syracuse AD Daryl Gross said.

Syracuse will travel to USF on Oct. 10, 2015 and then the Bulls will make a return trip to the Carrier Dome on Sept. 17 as part of the agreement.
