Ex-Penn State DC Tom Bradley hired by West Virginia
Dana Holgorsen announced Friday that Tom Bradley will be a defensive assistant and associate head coach for West Virginia.
Former Penn State defensive coordinator and interim coach Tom Bradley will be returning to the college football sideline, joining Dana Holgorsen's staff at West Virginia .
Holgorsen announced Friday that Bradley will be a defensive assistant and senior associate head coach for the Mountaineers. The move continues the team's staff shuffle on the defensive side of the ball; safeties coach Tony Gibson was promoted to defensive coordinator to replace Keith Patterson.
Bradley has been an analyst for CBS Sports Network since Bill O'Brien took the Nittany Lions job in 2012. He was Penn State's interim coach for the final four games (1-3) of the 2011 season after Joe Paterno was fired as a result of the Jerry Sandusky sex-abuse scandal.
After playing defensive back for Penn State from 1975-78, Bradley began a coaching career with the Nittany Lions in 1979 that would last until his exit in 2012. He coached the running backs, wide receivers, defensive backs and special teams before finishing as the team's defensive coordinator.
"I want to thank Coach Dana Holgorsen and (athletic director) Oliver Luck for this tremendous opportunity to contribute to the continued growth and success of the Mountaineer football program," Bradley said in a statement.
