Ex-USF QB Mike White tweets he'll transfer to Western Kentucky
Former USF quarterback Mike White tweeted that he'll transfer to Western Kentucky after two seasons with the Bulls.
Willie Taggart's loss at USF will be his old team's gain.
Former Bulls quarterback Mike White tweeted Saturday that he will transfer to Western Kentucky, the same program where Taggart made his name before arriving at USF in December 2012:
I'm excited to continue my career at Western Kentucky University! #GoTops— Mike White, Jr. (@MW_XIV) April 12, 2015
Taggart announced in late March that White would be transferring, trimming the contestants in the Bulls' starting quarterback battle to senior Steven Bench and sophomore Quinton Flowers.
Though no has thrived under center in Taggart's two years in Tampa, White has been the Bulls' most reliable option, starting 15 games and leading the 2014 team in QB rating and yards-per-attempt. After presumably sitting out a transfer year in 2015, though, White will be in the mix to take control of one of the most quarterback-friendly offenses in the FBS at WKU, where in Jeff Brohm's first season Brandon Doughty finished second in passing and still third in QB rating -- a difficult accomplishment.
