Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is touring Alabama during the start of his mission to visit with people from all 50 states in 2017. He’s already swung through Birmingham, Mobile and Selma, and he made his way to Tuscaloosa on Tuesday.

While in T-Town, Zuckerberg met with Alabama Crimson Tide players, as noted on social media. The Facebook founder was in town touring the Mal Moore Athletic Facility while speaking with Crimson Tide players and coach Nick Saban.

“I just met with Mark Zuckerberg, the Facebook guy,’’ Saban said at a luncheon, via AL.com. “He wanted to know about leadership, and what do you do to affect people.”

We stopped by the University of Alabama and sat down with Coach Saban. We talked about what it takes to build a world...

“We talked about about the pressures of being a student athlete -- not only the personal pressure of achieving their goals of making it to the NFL but also having the hopes of their community ride of their success,” Zuckerberg wrote.

“We all need to be part of something bigger than ourselves. Communities can form around all kinds of things -- churches, schools, teams -- and it’s clear that for a lot of folks in Alabama, college football is an important part of their community.”

No word yet on whether Zuckerberg will join coach Saban as a strategist for the 2017 season.
