Since its inception, it has generated a betting profit of well over $2,000 for $100 players on its top-rated college spread football picks, and was a profitable 27-16 combined on money-line and over/under college football picks in 2024. Anybody following its college football betting picks on betting sites could have seen strong returns.

Best Week 1 college football picks:

  • Under 47.5 points in Ohio State vs. Texas (-110)
  • LSU +4 vs. Clemson (-110)
  • Michigan -34.5 vs. New Mexico (-112)

Combining the model's three picks into a Week 1 college football parlay at Fanatics Sportsbook would result in a payout of +581 (risk $100 to win $581). Bet it at Fanatics Sportsbook here:

Under 47.5 points in Ohio State vs. Texas (-110)

Arch Manning and Julian Sayin both looked poised for great careers, but taking over as full-time starters for the first time in their respective careers against these defenses will be no picnic. Ohio State ranked first in college football in total defense last season and Texas ranked third. Both units are loaded with future NFL talent and physicality will win the day here. The model says the under hits in 57% of simulations.

LSU +4 vs. Clemson (-110)

Cade Klubnik is one of the best quarterbacks in the country, but Clemson has lost at least three games in each of the last four seasons and a weakened ACC has put them on the periphery of the national championship discussion after years of being a focal point. LSU has also returns an elite starting quarterback in Garrett Nussmeier and has failed to reach its full potential under Brian Kelly, so this feels like an early "something's got to give" game. The visitors had a great showing in the transfer portal this offseason and that's a big reason why the model has them covering the spread in 65% of simulations.

Michigan -34.5 vs. New Mexico (-112)

Bryce Underwood was the No. 1 overall recruit in the Class of 2025 and the five-star has been named Michigan's Week 1 starter in his true freshman season. The Wolverines have the talent to compete for a Big Ten title and the CFP championship if Underwood is ready out of the box, so expect a showcase game early. The Lobos are starting from scratch with Jason Eck after one year of Bronco Mendenhall at the helm and won't have nearly as much offensive firepower after losing Devon Dampier and Eli Sanders to the portal. The model predicts three touchdowns for Underwood in his debut and for Michigan to cover in 65% of simulations.
