Florida elation, Tennessee devastation: Twitter flips out to the Gators' shocking win
Florida's Hail Mary provided one of the best finishes of the 2017 season
The season is only three weeks old, but we've already seen one of the best finishes we'll see all year. Florida and Tennessee were playing an offensively broken field goal fest for most of the afternoon until a flurry of huge plays in the fourth quarter had the game tied at 20 with 50 seconds left on the clock.
Judging by Florida's clock management, it sure looked like Jim McElwain was playing for overtime. But he gave Feleipe Franks one shot at a Hail Mary, and the redshirt freshman put everything he had into a 63-yard heave to Tyrie Cleveland, who had sprinted behind all of Tennessee's secondary to catch the ball while sliding to the ground in the end zone for the incredible 26-20 win.
As you might imagine, the reactions were priceless.
We begin with the "Titanic" version, and Florida elation.
As you might imagine, there was also plenty of frustration and devastation for the Tennessee fans (along with some others that took the opportunity to revel in said frustration with jokes).
