One of the key members of Florida State's national championship winning defense will not be back in 2014, as ESPN.com's Joe Schad reported Thursday that defensive lineman Timmy Jernigan will enter the NFL Draft.

"Some team will get an athletic, hard-working lineman who attacks, plays smart and doesn't come off the field," Jernigan told Schad.

Well, if we're going to be honest, Jernigan spent quite a bit of time "off the field" during Florida State's win over Auburn as the up-tempo pace of the Tigers seemed to wear him down in the second half. That being said, however, missing some plays in one game should not define Jernigan's career at Florida State, and it was an excellent career. In fact, the Tallahassee Democrat's Ira Schoffel tweeted on Thursday that Jernigan was the one member of the Seminoles defense coaches weren't going to try to convince to stay simply because they feel he's ready for the NFL.

In Jernigan's three seasons with the Seminoles he accumulated 138 tackles, including 25 for loss and 8.5 sacks. Pretty good numbers for a defensive tackle.

Jernigan is projected as a first or second round pick in the NFL Draft.
