Duke offered Four-Star quarterback Tanner McKee a scholarship today, while he was on an unofficial visit to campus. McKee, The #6 Pro-Style QB stands 6'6" tall and weighs 240 pounds. The visit went about as well as caould have been expected.

"I saw the campus, facilities, and Cameron Indoor," McKee said to this evening after his visit. "Then, had lunch with the QB (Daniel Jones) and some other guys. It was fun. Came back and talked a bit with Coach Jeff Faris and then sat down for about 45 min with Coach Cutcliffe. Really enjoyed that. He's a great guy. Said I was the kind of guy they were looking for and would fit in great. Then I watched film with coach roper, the OC. Their system is very similar to what we run at Centennial HS."

While McKee is currently in the Class of 2018 in high school, he's still debating whether to take a Mormon mission before college. Duke is recruiting him as a Class of 2020 recruit.

McKee added a stop to Duke on a recent college tour that took him around the Southeastern US to numerous schools, and he picked up an offer at nearly every one. The Durham stop today resulted in an offer as well, when head coach David Cutcliffe pulled McKee and his parents in to his office and gave him the good news. There was some indication an offer was coming, as Duke showed their interest before the visit took place.

"They really like my film," he said. "I have a good relationship with (Coach Faris)."

Before McKee made the trip, he indicated that an offer from Duke would carry some weight.

"They would be up there (if they offered) and I would be really excited," McKee explained. "Duke is a great school academically and that is important to me."

So where is Duke on McKee's list now that they have offered?

"I'm staying open right now until I finish my visits."
