Game Recap
After a dominant win in their game last week, the South Alabama Jaguars were humbled on Thursday. They came up short against the Georgia Southern Eagles, falling 24-17. The result was an unfortunate reminder to the Jaguars of the 20-17 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head last October.
Georgia Southern can attribute much of their success to RB Wesley Kennedy III, who punched in two rushing touchdowns.
No one had a standout game offensively for South Alabama, but they got scores from WR Jalen Tolbert and TE Brandon Crum.
The loss dropped South Alabama's record to 3-2. The victory bumped Georgia Southern's record up to an identical 3-2.
South Alabama will hit the road for the second straight week as they head to Brooks Stadium at 8 p.m. ET next week. The Eagles have the luxury of staying at home another week and will welcome the Troy Trojans at 1 p.m. ET Nov. 7 at Allen E. Paulson Stadium.
