What to Know

The Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks have been on the wrong side of a one-way rivalry with the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns and are hoping to record their first win since Sept. 23 of 2017. Louisiana-Monroe and Louisiana will face off in a Sun Belt battle at 4 p.m. ET Saturday at Cajun Field. The Ragin' Cajuns should still be feeling good after a big victory, while Louisiana-Monroe will be looking to get back in the win column.

Louisiana-Monroe came up short against the LSU Tigers last week, falling 27-14. No one had a standout game offensively for Louisiana-Monroe, but they got scores from TE Zach Rasmussen, WR Boogie Knight, and QB Chandler Rogers.

Meanwhile, everything went Louisiana's way against the Liberty Flames last week as they made off with a 42-14 win. Louisiana relied on the efforts of QB Levi Lewis, who passed for three TDs and 166 yards on 25 attempts, and RB Emani Bailey, who punched in one rushing touchdown.

Louisiana's defense was a force to be reckoned with, as it embarrassed Liberty's offensive line to sack the quarterback seven times for a total loss of 64 yards. Leading the way was LB Chauncey Manac and his four sacks. Manac now has six sacks through 11 games.

Louisiana-Monroe is the clear underdog, so they're hoping it's the size of the fight that determines this one. The smart bettors have been the ones to keep their money on Louisiana-Monroe's opponents whenever they hit the road.

The Warhawks are now 4-7 while the Ragin' Cajuns sit at 10-1. Two defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Louisiana-Monroe is 247th worst in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, with 29 on the season. Louisianas have had an even harder time: they are stumbling into the game with the 155th most passing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 15 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
