Who's Playing

Maine @ Northern Illinois

Current Records: Maine 1-2; Northern Illinois 1-2

What to Know

Considering their sizeable disadvantage in the spread, the Maine Black Bears can expect to have a real challenge on their hands Saturday. They will square off against the Northern Illinois Huskies on the road at 2:30 p.m. ET at Brigham Field at Huskie Stadium. Maine should still be riding high after a win, while the Huskies will be looking to get back in the win column.

The Black Bears didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup with the Merrimack Warriors last week, but they still walked away with a 31-26 victory. The team accrued 22 points in the first half and coasted on those for the win.

Meanwhile, the day started off rough for NIU last week, and it ended that way, too. They were completely outmatched by the Michigan Wolverines on the road and fell 63-10. The Huskies were in a tough position by the half, with the score already sitting at 35-3. No one had a standout game offensively for NIU, but WR Cole Tucker led the way with one touchdown.

Northern Illinois' defeat took them down to 1-2 while Maine's win pulled them up to 1-2. We'll see if NIU can steal Maine's luck or if the Black Bears records another win instead.
