Through 3 Quarters

The Iowa Hawkeyes were expected to win this one, and so far that's exactly how it's playing out. They have emerged as the frontrunner after three quarters and are ahead of the Northwestern Wildcats 17-6. RB Tyler Goodson has led the way so far for Iowa, as he has rushed for one TD and 102 yards on 17 carries.

The Hawkeyes have been led by Goodson, who so far has rushed for one TD and 102 yards on 17 carries. Goodson hadn't helped his team much against the Wisconsin Badgers last week, so this is a nice turnaround for him.

Iowa and Northwestern both experienced trouble in their last games, but one is bound to make up for it today. Iowa just need to hang on one more quarter to get back on their feet.

Who's Playing

No. 22 Iowa @ Northwestern

Current Records: Iowa 6-2; Northwestern 3-5

What to Know

The Northwestern Wildcats and the Iowa Hawkeyes are set to square off in a Big Ten matchup at 7 p.m. ET Nov. 6 at Ryan Field. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W.'

Northwestern suffered a grim 41-14 defeat to the Minnesota Golden Gophers last week. A silver lining for the Wildcats was the play of RB Evan Hull, who picked up 107 yards on the ground on 15 carries in addition to snatching one receiving TD.

Meanwhile, Iowa received a tough blow last week as they fell 27-7 to the Wisconsin Badgers. QB Spencer Petras had a memorable game, but not in the way you want to be remembered: despite one touchdown, he fumbled the ball once with only 93 yards passing.

Northwestern have to know they'll be fighting an uphill battle given the 12 point spread they are up against. Those betting on them against the spread shouldn't have high expectations for them since the team is 0-3 ATS when expected to lose.

The losses put Northwestern at 3-5 and Iowa at 6-2. A pair of stats to keep an eye on: The Wildcats are stumbling into the game with the 207th most rushing yards allowed per game in the nation, having given up 205.7 on average. The Hawkeyes have experienced some struggles of their own as they are 177th worst in the nation in rushing yards per game, with only 116.6 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
