An attorney for Florida State running back Dalvin Cook believes that his client's trial, which has already been moved up from Sept. 2 to Aug. 24, could be over in just one day, depending on how many witnesses the state subpoenas.

Ricky Patel, in speaking to both the Tallahassee Democrat and Tomahawk Nation this week, has indicated that his team has "found multiple holes in the probable cause affidavit" and said an independent witness has come forward and "directly refuted some of the details" of the 911 call and claims of another witness.

Cook is charged with punching a woman outside a Tallahassee bar the night of June 23. His status with the team has been in limbo until the legal situation is resolved, with the Seminoles even taking two team photos last weekend -- one with Cook, and one without.

If Cook is found not guilty, he will likely be reinstated and have an opportunity to rejoin the team in time for the season opener against Texas State on Sept. 5.
