It's no secret Houston coach Tom Herman is the hottest coach in the carousel this year. Seriously, he's so hot right now. So hot, in fact, that every major media outlet is discussing where he might go next, and what a program would be willing to pay him.

That's all well and good ... until sports pundits are debating Herman's worth at another job while he's at his current job ... and that show is being broadcast while Herman is doing a radio show for that current job.

Enter the most awkward coaching rumor juxtaposition of 2016...

The so-called "bidding war" for Herman could come to fruition if there are openings at Texas and, say, Texas A&M. For what it's worth, Bovada lists Herman as the only name with a chance to become Texas' coach. Odds of him becoming Charlie Strong's successor are 1/5; odds of him not are 3-to-1.

Numerous reports surfaced following Texas' embarrassing loss to Kansas that Strong had indeed been let go, but Texas has not confirmed that publicly. Strong himself said he wants to come back for a fourth year and there's no question he has the support of his players.

However, it seems more like a matter of when Texas and Strong part ways.
