Miami linebacker Gabe Terry dismissed from the team
Miami coach Al Golden said linebacker Gabe Terry had been dismissed from the team before his arrest last Friday.
Miami coach Al Golden made it clear on Thursday that linebacker Gabe Terry is no longer a member of the football team.
"Gabe is no longer with our football team," Golden told the Miami Herald. "It's done. Again, I apologize. I don't know what [information] was released on our end, but he's no longer with the team. He was suspended before the incident. We've separated and moved in another direction."
The incident that Golden referred to was Terry's arrest last week.
Terry was arrested on Friday morning, when school police officers found him sleeping face down on the steps outside his dorm shortly before 4 a.m. The police also allegedly found 26.8 grams of marijuana in Terry's pocket and reportedly used a Taser on him after he shoved an officer.
Terry saw limited action during his one season with the Hurricanes, making five tackles and blocking a punt while playing in six games.
