Missouri executive associate athletic director Bryan Maggard confirmed to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch in December that the Tigers had "agreed in principle" to a home-and-home series with Purdue to be played in 2017 and 2018.
That agreement took a few months to have its final details hammered out, apparently, but the schools made it official all the same Wednesday, announcing that the Boilermakers will visit Columbia on Sept. 16, 2017, with the Tigers set to play in Ross-Ade Stadium on Sept. 15, 2018.
The two teams have met eight times, though not since the 1980 Liberty Bowl and not in the regular season since 1956. Purdue holds a 6-2 advantage in the all-time series.
The series will fulfill Missouri's SEC requirement to schedule at least one power-conference opponent in their nonconference slate those seasons.
