NC State, Mississippi State set home-and-home for 2020, 2021
NC State and Mississippi State have reached an agreement to play a home-and-home series in 2020 and 2021.
The SEC and ACC are no strangers to out-of-conference matchups against each other, and so it's no major surprise another one has been added to the leagues' shared slates for 2020 and 2021.
NC State announced Tuesday that it will host Mississippi State in the first year of a home-and-home series at Carter-Finley Stadium in September 2020, with the Wolfpack making the return trip to Starkville in September 2021.
The teams have met five times in their history, though not since the 1995 then-Peach Bowl, a 28-24 NC State victory. The Wolfpack lead the all-time series 3-2.
Mississippi State appears to be pushing for more interesting nonconference games for its future schedules, though we do mean future schedules -- the 2020 visit to Raleigh is right around the corner compared to its 2022 trip to Tucson to take on Arizona.
