NC State QB Brandon Mitchell to have surgery for foot fracture
NC State quarterback Brandon Mitchell will have surgery for a fracture to his left foot.
North Carolina State starting quarterback Brandon Mitchell suffered a left foot fracture Saturday that will require surgery, according to a source with direct knowledge of hte situation.
The exact nature of the fracture was unknown to the source, while she surgery is expected to take place Sunday or Monday and will probably keep the quarterback out six weeks.
Mitchell, an Arkansas transfer named the starter before Saturday's kickoff against Louisiana Tech, got injured on the third offensive series of the 40-14 win. Backup Pete Thomas, a Colorado State transfer, replaced Mitchell, who watched on the sidelines while wearing a protective boot.
