Miami (FL) @ North Carolina
Current Records: Miami (FL) 2-3; North Carolina 3-3
What to Know
The Miami (FL) Hurricanes have enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they must head out on the road. Their week off comes to an end as they meet up with the North Carolina Tar Heels at 3:30 p.m. ET at Kenan Memorial Stadium Saturday. Coming off of a loss in a game they were expected to win, Miami (FL) now face the more daunting task of proving themselves against unfavorable odds.
The Hurricanes were close but no cigar two weeks ago as they fell 30-28 to the Virginia Cavaliers. Miami (FL)'s defeat came about despite a quality game from RB Cam'Ron Harris, who rushed for two TDs and 111 yards on 14 carries. Harris put himself on the highlight reel with a 57-yard TD scramble down the left side of the field in the third quarter.
Meanwhile, UNC entered their game against the Florida State Seminoles last week without any home losses -- but there's a first time for everything. UNC fell to FSU 35-25. This was hardly the result UNC or its fans were betting on, as they were favored by 17.5 points over the Seminoles heading into this contest. A silver lining for the Tar Heels was the play of QB Sam Howell, who passed for two TDs and 203 yards on 32 attempts in addition to picking up 108 yards on the ground.
The losses put the Hurricanes at 2-3 and UNC at 3-3. Two defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Miami (FL) is stumbling into the matchup with the 195th most passing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up ten on the season. UNC has experienced some struggles of their own as they are 201st worst in the nation in rushing touchdowns allowed, with ten on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
