Northwestern defensive end Xavier Washington was reportedly found in possession of cocaine when Evanston Police were called to an off-campus disturbance on Sunday at 3:30 a.m., according to the Daily Northwestern.

A school spokesperson confirmed the arrest to the Chicago Tribune, noting that Washington, a starter in eight games for the Wildcats last season, has been suspended indefinitely while the school investigates

Washington ranked third on the team in tackles for loss last season with 7.5, trailing only Ifeadi Odenigbo and Anthony Walker Jr..

Since Odenigbo was a senior and Walker was selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the NFL Draft over the weekend, Washington is expected to be a top contributor in Northwestern's defensive front this fall.
