Notre Dame were the big favorite in their most recent match, and for good reason. Everything went their way against Florida St. on Saturday as they made off with a 42-13 win.
Notre Dame's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 32 points in the first half. Florida St. countered with 6 points, leaving the score at 32-6 going into the half. The Notre Dame defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 7 and all but finishing the match.
Dexter Williams, who rushed for 202 yards and 2 touchdowns on 20 carries, was a major factor in Notre Dame's success. One of the most memorable plays of the contest was Williams's 58-yard touchdown rush in the second quarter. Alize Mack also deserves a shout-out for his two TDs.
Notre Dame have yet to lose this season, and the victory brought them up to 10-0. The loss dropped Florida St.'s record to 4-6.
Notre Dame will stay at home next week against Syracuse at 3:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a win streak alive as Notre Dame skips in on ten wins and Syracuse on four.
