Oakland's Jake Peetz emerges as potential Rams target

The Los Angeles Rams have hired a head coach, and now the next move is to flesh out his staff.

According to Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports, new Rams coach Sean McVay could target Oakland Raiders assistant quarterbacks coach Jake Peetz to coach either his quarterbacks or wide receivers.

Peetz joined the Raiders before the 2015 season, when Jack Del Rio was hired as head coach. He previously served as an offensive quality control/assistant wide receivers coach with the Washington Redskins. McVay was with the Redskins as a tight ends coach and offensive coordinator during the same time.

There is also the strong possibility that Peetz moves up within the Raiders organization. With the Raiders reportedly planning to move on from offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave when his contract expires this offseason, quarterbacks coach Todd Downing is expected to replace him. That means there will be an opening for Peetz to be promoted to Downing's job.

The Raiders have already weathered a couple reported shakeups to their coaching staff. Losing Peetz would be another curveball to overcome.
