Who's Playing

Florida Atlantic @ Old Dominion

Current Records: Florida Atlantic 5-4; Old Dominion 3-6

What to Know

After a two-game homestand, the Florida Atlantic Owls will be on the road. Florida Atlantic and the Old Dominion Monarchs will face off in a Conference USA battle at 3:30 p.m. ET Saturday at Kornblau Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium. The Owls won't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy a 6.5-point advantage in the spread.

Florida Atlantic entered their contest against the Marshall Thundering Herd last week without any home losses -- but there's a first time for everything. The game between them was not particularly close, with Florida Atlantic falling 28-13. RB Johnny Ford put forth a good effort for the losing side as he picked up 140 yards on the ground on 14 carries.

Meanwhile, after constant struggles on the road, Old Dominion has finally found some success away from home. Everything went their way against the FIU Panthers last week as they made off with a 47-24 victory. The oddsmakers were on Old Dominion's side, but they didn't give the team enough credit as the margin was unexpectedly wide. Their RB Blake Watson did his thing and rushed for two TDs and 158 yards on 28 carries.

The Owls are now 5-4 while the Monarchs sit at 3-6. A couple defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: Florida Atlantic is stumbling into the matchup with the 192nd most rushing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 14 on the season. Old Dominion has experienced some struggles of their own as they are 238th worst in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, with 22 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
