Oregon lists transfer QB Vernon Adams as starter on depth chart
Oregon has named transfer QB Vernon Adams the starter in the latest depth chart.
Just two weeks ago, Vernon Adams was waiting for the results of his final test at Eastern Washington to determine whether he would graduate and be able to complete his transfer to Oregon.
Now, after just two weeks in Eugene, Adams is listed as the starting quarterback for the Ducks in the most recent depth chart for Week 1. Adams was competing for the starting job with junior Jeff Lockie.
It's somewhat fitting that Adams' first career start will be against his former team when Oregon hosts Eastern Washington. Adams put up incredible numbers in his career at Eastern Washington, throwing for 10,438 yards and 110 touchdowns in his three years with the Eagles.
Now, he'll be asked to put up similar numbers at the FBS level as he leads the Ducks' high-powered offense. Adams will be joined in the backfield by star running back Royce Freeman and will have Dwayne Stanford, Byron Marshall and Charles Nelson as his starting wide receivers.
