Oregon State hiring former NFL assistant John Garrett as OC
Oregon State is turning to John Garrett -- the brother of Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett -- to lead the Beavers' offense.
Oregon State is hiring former Dallas Cowboys passing game coordinator John Garrett as the Beavers' new offensive coordinator, according to a source.
Garrett is traveling to Corvallis this week to finalize the process, the source said.
Garrett worked for his brother, Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett, before taking a job last year as the Bucs' wide receivers coach. Garrett and OSU coach Mike Riley have a long-standing relationship. Garrett also spent National Signing Day with the Beavers.
CoachingSearch.com first reported Garrett was a candidate for the job. Garrett replaces Danny Landsdorf, who took a job with the New York Giants.
