Patriots Week 11 breakout pick vs. 49ers: LeGarrette Blount

LeGarrette Blount is in the midst of a career year and when the season over and it's time for reflection, this is the game that could be at the top of his highlight reel.

The Patriots running back enters Week 11 after rushing for 69 yards and three touchdowns against the Seattle Seahawks last Sunday. He faces a San Francisco 49ers team that boasts the worst run defense in the entire NFL allowing 180 yards per game on the ground.

Blount is coming into this game red-hot rushing for 678 yards and a career high 12 touchdowns so far this season and shows no signs of slowing down.

He only needs two more touchdowns to tie the New England Patriots franchise record for most rushing scores in a single season and already has had three games this season where he's rushed for multiple touchdowns, so placing a bet that he'll come out at least tied with the record seems pretty safe.

San Francisco has also allowed the second most rushing scores this season with 13. Only the San Diego Chargers with 14 have given up more.

The Niners aren't even picky when it comes what kinds of backs they let take advantage of them. Sure, the Ezekiel Elliot's and LeSean McCoy's of the world will have their way, but this unit has also allowed lower level backs like Fozzy Whittaker, Jacquizz Rodgers and Christine Michael to rush well over 100 yards.

If you want to compare Blount's bruising style and how it could translate to this defense, Mark Ingram bashed his way to 158 yards on the ground two games ago.

The game plan for the Patriots right from the get-go should be to hand the ball off, give it some time and Blount should be off to the races.
