Bobby Petrino made his first public appearance since his Sunday motorcycle crash at a press conference Tuesday afternoon, and via the Twitter feed of Arkansas Sports 360, he looked much the worse for wear:
Petrino confirmed that he had not been wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, and had suffered both cracked vertebrae and broken ribs. He called himself "very fortunate ... very lucky" to have not suffered something life-threatening, and said he would wear a helmet in the future.
But Petrino also felt comfortable enough to crack a joke about his experience:
Petrino: "Don't think I have any brain damage, but that remains to be seen. If I start not punting at all, we'll know something's wrong."
