Officially, the University of Miami had 39,345 fans in attendance at Sun Life Stadium to see the Hurricanes' home opener against Bethune-Cookman. The photo above, tweeted by Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press, was taken in the second quarter from the press box. It may seem confusing, with Miami's color scheme, but most of that orange in the picture represents an unattended seat.
Those who were there saw an electric performance by running back Duke Johnson. The true freshman racked up 246 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns in the 38-10 win. It was Miami's sixth straight win in home openers.
What do you think; 39,345 in attendance or no?
