Mississippi State has paid tribute to late Bulldog defensive lineman and cancer victim Nick Bell by painting his name and number in the end zone for Saturday's game vs. Arkansas.
This week's game against Arkansas is State's final home date of the season and the program's Senior Day, and the Bulldogs will honor late defensive lineman Nick Bell by painting his name and number in the end zone. Bell, then a sophomore, died at the age of 20 in November 2010 after a sudden battle with cancer, only weeks after starting the Bulldogs' first game of the season.
Bell will be honored along with the rest of what would have been his senior class as part of pregame ceremonies, and via Mississippi State athletics official Chad Thomas, here's what the end zone will look like:
Whether you're an SEC fan, it may be worth tuning your TV to Mississippi State and Arkansas Saturday afternoon -- kickoff is at 12:21 p.m. ET, game preview here -- to get a glimpse of the Bulldogs' classy gesture.
