PHOTOS: New helmets for Illinois
Coming off a 2-10 season the Illini are hoping they can change things up in 2013. The first step? Some new helmets.
Illinois is coming off a 2-10 season in 2012 and is the not-so-proud owner of a 14-game Big Ten losing streak. So, needless to say, the Fighting Illini are hoping for a new start in 2013, and part of that start seems to be new uniforms.
The school confirmed to CBSSports.com Tuesday that the team will be wearing these new orange helmets during the 2013 season.
Personally, I like them.
The truth is that there's not a whole lot Illinois can do with its helmet considering their logo is a block I, but this is certainly better than the word Illini on the side in that slanted script.
What do you think of Illinois' new helmets?
