The ACC takes center stage on Saturday and one of the intriguing matchups is Syracuse traveling to Heinz Field to take on Pittsburgh at noon ET. Pitt is ranked 25th in the AP Poll and is hoping to be in the ACC title mix this season behind quarterback Kenny Pickett. The Panthers opened their season with a 55-0 win over FCS-level Austin Peay last week.

The Orange, meanwhile, stuck with North Carolina for three quarters, but ultimately fell 31-6 in their opener last week. The latest Pittsburgh vs. Syracuse odds from William Hill list the Panthers as 21.5-point favorites. The over-under for total points expected is 49.5. What you need to know about Pittsburgh

The Panthers have one of the ACC's most experienced quarterbacks in Pickett. The senior enters his third year as the starter and he's coming off a 2019 campaign where he threw for over 3,000 yards and 13 touchdowns. He got off to a fast start against Austin Peay as well, completing 14-of-20 passes for 277 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions.

While Pickett brings stability on offense, the Panthers also have an extremely stout defense. Defensive lineman Jaylen Twyman's decision to opt out of the 2020 season was certainly a blow, but Pittsburgh brings back several other key pieces from a defense that led the nation in sacks last season. Pittsburgh gave up just 22.5 points per game in 2019 and got 2020 started with a shutout, so this is a team that could give Syracuse's offense some major issues.

What you need to know about Syracuse

Meanwhile, Syracuse had to start its season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the opener it was hoping for. Their bruising 31-6 loss to the North Carolina Tar Heels might stick with them for a while. Tommy DeVito wasn't much of a difference maker for 'Cuse as he went 12-of-31 for just 112 yards.

However, DeVito completed 63.1 percent of his passes with 19 touchdowns against just five interceptions last season and the Orange will hope that he can tap back into past success this weekend against the Panthers.
