Podcast: Dennis Dodd on Penn State penalty reductions, Week 5, more
CBSSports.com's Senior College Football Columnist joins Chip Patterson from the BCS meetings in Chicago to discuss the Penn State penalty reductions, APU movement and more.
Dennis Dodd joins me from the BCS meetings in Chicago for this mid-week edition of the Eye On College Football Podcast. Recorded Tuesday afternoon, we begin with the news of reduced scholarship penalties for Penn State. With NCAA on the mind, I also get Dennis to weigh in on the APU (All Players United) movement and guess the end game. He argues -- and I agree -- that the players are more likely to get cooperation from the NCAA on concussions than compensation.
After enough off-field talk, we move to the season at hand. Dennis and I briefly preview LSU-Georgia and Wisconsin-Ohio State, then move out West to discuss the second-best conference in the country. Oregon and Stanford look title-worthy, Washington is surging upward and all three teams must face Brett Hundley and UCLA. The SEC may be the No. 1 conference, but the Pac-12 is far more intriguing.
Also: Baylor undefeated in late November? Not as unbelievable as it sounded a month ago, huh?
As it is with all Doddcasts, I feel like I learned a lot recording the show. Hope you do the same.
