Podcast: Pac-12 Preview with Bruce Feldman
Can anyone knock off Stanford and Oregon? Bruce Feldman and Chip Patterson discuss the biggest stories and players to watch in the Pac-12 this fall.
Bruce Feldman joins the Eye On College Football Podcast as our 2013 conference preview series continues with the Pac-12.
While the focus of the show is out West, Bruce checks in from New York City while preparing for a new CBS Sports Network show, Fast Football. We get a preview of what's in store -- looking at the ways the sport is changing, both on and off the field -- before diving into the topic at hand. Fast Football can be seen Tuesday night on CBS Sports Network, click here for a channel finder in your area.
In the podcast, Bruce picks Washington and Arizona State as teams that could challenge the current status quo in the Pac-12. Oregon, Stanford, USC and UCLA are considered the favorites to contend for division titles this fall, but Bruce says coaching changes in recent years have made the bottom half of the conference significantly stronger.
We also get a list of five breakout players to watch in 2013. While we expect improvement from last year's surprise stars like Mariota and Kevin Hogan, keep an eye on USC safety Su'a Cravens, UCLA wide receiver Shaq Evans, Oregon wide receiver B.J. Kelley, as well as Stanford teammates James Vaughters and Aziz Shittu.
