PODCAST: Penn State's rocky start to the post-Paterno era

Penn State coach Bill O'Brien hopes to avoid an 0-2 start at Virginia on Saturday. (US Presswire)

Penn State's home-opening loss against Ohio in Week 1 put the new-look Nittany Lions in the spotlight for many of the wrong reasons. Fans across the nation tuned in to see the names on the back of the jerseys, the attendance at Beaver Stadium, and what first-year coach Bill O'Brien would bring offensively to a unit that struggled in 2011.

The disappointment was clear after the 24-14 loss, but the road only gets tougher for Penn State. The Nittany Lions travel to Charlottesville to face Virginia, where they are double-digit underdogs in the nationally-televised game. Donnie Collins, Penn State reporter for the Scranton Times-Tribune, joins me to give insight on the local reaction to the Ohio loss and preview what the team needs to do to avoid going 0-2.
