QB Cyler Miles (suspension) will start for Washington on Saturday
Quarterback Cyler Miles served a one-game suspension for his involvement in an altercation after the Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl win.
Chris Petersen announced that Cyler Miles will start for Washington against Eastern Washington on Saturday, hopefully injecting a spark into the Huskies offense after a sluggish start to the season.
Miles' name was linked to an altercation in Seattle after the Seahawks' Super Bowl win, along with Damore'ea Stringfellow. Stringfellow is now on the roster at Ole Miss, and Miles was only just reinstated in May after serving a suspension for alleged involvement in the incident, though no charges were filed.
With Jeff Lindquist starting against Hawaii on Saturday, the Huskies offense stalled in the second half and Hawaii was able to slowly climb back into the game. John Ross looked really explosive and delivered some highlights, but overall it was not a pretty start for the Washington offense in a 17-16 win.
Miles appeared in eight games as a redshirt freshman last season and started at Oregon State. Against the Beavers, Miles completed 15-of-24 passes for 162 yards and one touchdown with no interceptions. Coming out of high school in Centennial, Colo., 247Sports ranked Miles as a four-star prospect and the No. 2 dual-threat quarterback in his class.
