Former Oregon quarterback Jake Rodrigues will reportedly transfer to San Diego State .'s Aztec Sports Report cited sources in reporting Rodrigues had already filled out the necessary paperwork with the Aztecs and had been approved by the school's compliance office. Per the report, the former 247Sports composite four-star recruit from Rocklin, Calif. had trimmed his list to SDSU and Texas before deciding to play in San Diego.

"[Quarterback coach Brian Sipe] talked about me just making plays and leading the team, putting our players in the right situation, being a leader, throwing the ball in the right place and being accurate," Rodrigues told the site last week, before making his decision final. "They're really excited, I'm really excited and I can't wait to see what comes of this."

As a rising redshirt sophomore, Rodrigues will sit out the 2014 season and begin the 2015 season with SDSU as a junior with two seasons of eligiblity remaining.

Rodrigues announced earlier this month he was leaving the Ducks, informing Mark Helfrich of his decision after being unable to separate himself from Jeff Lockie this spring in the battle to back up Marcus Mariota. He went 3-of-6 in seven appearances for the Ducks in 2013, throwing one touchdown and one interception.
