Report: Florida State hires Tim Brewster as tight ends coach
Florida State has reportedly hired former Minnesota head coach and current Mississippi State assistant Tim Brewster as TE coach.
Florida State has reportedly completed its 2013 coaching staff, hiring Tim Brewster from Mississippi State to serve as the Seminoles' tight ends coach. Warchant.com, Rivals' Florida State site, is one of several outlets reporting that the Seminoles' finalized the deal with the former Minnesota head coach on Wednesday.
Brewster spent 2012 on Dan Mullen's staff at Mississippi State coaching the wide receivers. Prior to that he spent four seasons as Minnesota's head coach (2007-10), leading the Golden Gophers to a pair of Insight Bowl appearances. As an assistant, Brewster spent 18 seasons coaching tight ends, both at the NFL and college level.
Jimbo Fisher hired Tennessee running backs coach -- and former Vols' running back -- Jay Graham as an offensive assistant on Monday. It has been suggested that Graham will coach the running backs, allowing current running backs coach Randy Sanders to move to quarterbacks' coach, a position left vacant went James Coley left to become the offensive coordinator at Miami.
Florida State saw seven assistant coaches leave during the 2012-13 offseason, most recently losing tight ends coach Billy Napier to Alabama less than two months after Fisher hired him to the Seminoles' staff. Brewster's addition finally rounds out the offensive staff as the Seminoles get set for spring practice next month.
