Report: FSU to promote Charles Kelly to defensive coordinator
According to a report, Florida State will promote Charles Kelly to defensive coordinator, replacing Jeremy Pruitt.
It appears Florida State did not need to look far to find its new defensive coordinator.
According to a report from 247Sports, Florida State linebackers coach Charles Kelly will be promoted to defensive coordinator. The site also reports that defensive line coach, Sal Sunseri, will be promoted to assistant head coach.
Kelly joined the Florida State staff last January, coming to Tallahassee from Georgia Tech where he spent seven seasons as an assistant. Kelly finished the 2012 season as the co-defensive coordinator, but spent most of his time with the Yellow Jackets coaching the secondary.
Kelly will replace Jeremy Pruitt, who left Florida State to take the defensive coordinator position at Georgia earlier this month.
