It didn't take long for fired Cal coach Sonny Dykes to find a new job, and it's in familiar territory.
Dykes will join TCU's coaching staff in a yet-to-be-determined role, according to 247Sports, ESPN and Fox Sports. Dykes was fired from Cal last week after compiling a 19-30 record in four seasons. The Golden Bears went 5-7 this season.
While the move has to be confirmed by the school, it's safe to say Dykes will have some role in the offense. Horned Frogs co-offensive coordinator Doug Meacham was hired by Kansas as the Jayhawks' offensive coordinator last week. Dykes and Meacham run similar styles of offense that fall under the Air Raid umbrella.
Dykes has a history in the Big 12 as well from his time as an assistant under Mike Leach at Texas Tech. In fact, Dykes worked for Leach while remaining TCU co-offensive coordinator Sonny Cumbie was a quarterback for the Red Raiders.
