Shaq Evans confident UCLA will beat Southern Cal again this year
UCLA receiver Shaq Evans has noticed the early struggles of crosstown rival Southern California and is enjoying them.
Evans was on ESPN Radio 710-AM in Los Angeles on Wednesday, and he made some comments about UCLA's crosstown rival.
"Knowing that we're going to beat them again this year ... especially two years ago when they beat us 50-0, we owe them a little bit," Evans said. "This year, we're going to try to embarrass them, honestly.
"They're struggling. It's just awesome to see that. I hate them. So I'm just loving it."
Now, you have to think that this is exactly the kind of attitude Jim Mora would like his players to have when it comes to USC, but he would likely prefer they didn't share those feelings on a radio show.
It's not as if USC is some pushover team here. Yes, the Trojans had an ugly loss at home against Washington State a few weeks ago, but they seemed to get their house in order against Boston College last week. Plus, while UCLA did win last season's matchup, it did lose the previous five matchups and 12 of the past 14.
So taking a win this season for granted might be a bit premature.
