What to Know

The Auburn Tigers and the South Carolina Gamecocks will face off in an SEC clash at 7 p.m. ET Nov. 20 at Williams-Brice Stadium. Given that these two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Auburn scored first but ultimately less than the Mississippi State Bulldogs in their game last week. Auburn came up short against MSU, falling 43-34. Auburn was up 28-10 at the end of the half but couldn't hold on to the lead. The losing side was boosted by WR Ja'Varrius Johnson, who punched in one rushing touchdown in addition to catching four passes for 102 yards. That receiving effort made it the first game that Johnson has posted more than 100 yards receiving.

Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought contest, but USC had to settle for a 31-28 defeat against the Missouri Tigers last week. QB Jason Brown had a memorable game, but not in the way you want to be remembered: despite two touchdowns, he threw one interception and fumbled the ball once with only 193 yards passing.

Auburn is the favorite in this one, with an expected 7.5-point margin of victory. They have failed bettors playing the spread in their past two games, so buyers beware.

Auburn is now 6-4 while the Gamecocks sit at 5-5. A couple defensive stats to keep an eye on: Auburn is 183rd worst in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, with 16 on the season. USC has experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the contest with the 167th most touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 27 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
